Hedera Launches AI Studio Agent Bounty Campaign for Onchain AI Commerce

Hedera has officially introduced the Hedera AI Studio Agent Bounty Campaign, a five-week developer initiative focused on accelerating the growth of AI-powered onchain commerce. Running from May 18 through June 21, 2026, the campaign invites developers to build AI agents capable of executing blockchain-based transactions using the Hedera Agent Kit or Agentic Payments MCP infrastructure.

The initiative is designed to encourage experimentation around agentic commerce, a growing area within blockchain and artificial intelligence where autonomous AI systems can interact with decentralized applications, manage payments, and execute actions onchain. Hedera confirmed that the campaign will feature weekly bounty challenges, real prize rewards, and mandatory shipping requirements, emphasizing practical deployment rather than purely conceptual projects.

Weekly AI Challenges Aim to Advance Agentic Commerce

Throughout the campaign, new bounty tasks will be released every Monday with a one-week submission period for participants. Each challenge opens at 9:00 AM UTC on Mondays and closes at 11:59 PM UTC on Sundays, creating a fast-paced development cycle aimed at encouraging rapid iteration and experimentation. According to Hedera, all rules, submission requirements, and bounty management will be handled through the project’s official campaign hub.

The broader goal of the initiative is to strengthen Hedera’s position within the emerging AI and blockchain convergence sector, particularly around autonomous digital commerce systems.

By incentivizing developers to create transaction-enabled AI agents, Hedera is positioning its infrastructure as a foundation for future decentralized applications where AI systems can independently coordinate payments, services, and interactions across blockchain ecosystems.

The campaign also reflects a wider industry trend in which blockchain networks are increasingly targeting AI-focused development as the next phase of decentralized technology growth. As interest in autonomous agents and machine-driven financial interactions expands, initiatives like Hedera’s bounty program could help accelerate real-world experimentation and adoption within the evolving onchain AI economy.
