Ripple Swell 2026: 13 Announcements Put RLUSD, XRP and XRPL at the Center of Institutional Finance

Ripple

Ripple used its Swell conference to outline an expanding institutional strategy, with 13 announcements spanning banking, payments, digital asset custody, tokenization, stablecoins and corporate finance. The developments put the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and Ripple USD (RLUSD) at the center of several initiatives involving established financial institutions and major crypto platforms.

One of the biggest announcements was the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank. Ripple also introduced Ripple Treasury, an always-on corporate treasury platform, adding another component to its effort to serve businesses managing payments and financial operations.

Banking, RLUSD and Institutional Adoption Take Center Stage

Asset management was another major theme. Aviva Investors announced a tokenized share class of its £22 billion Sterling Liquidity Fund on XRPL. The development brings a traditional money-market-style investment product onto blockchain infrastructure, highlighting the potential role of tokenization in fund administration and distribution.

Robinhood also announced a partnership involving RLUSD distribution and institutional settlement on XRPL. While the announcement points to a broader relationship between the companies, the precise scope and rollout details will determine how much activity it ultimately generates for the network.

BNY expanded its digital asset custody offering to include XRP and RLUSD. The announcement also covered RLUSD minting, XRPL tokenization and trade finance, connecting the bank’s custody business with several areas of Ripple’s institutional strategy.

C2FO introduced its Instant Pay initiative, which will use XRPL and RLUSD for supplier financing and settlement. The focus is on helping businesses access payments more quickly, addressing a longstanding challenge for suppliers that often wait extended periods to receive money for completed work.

RLUSD also received A2 long-term and P-1 short-term ratings from Moody’s. The ratings provide an independent assessment of the stablecoin’s credit profile, although they should not be interpreted as a guarantee of its value or a substitute for examining its reserves, redemption arrangements and operational risks.

Coinbase announced RLUSD distribution across Coinbase Retail, Exchange and Prime. The stablecoin will be supported across XRPL, Base and Ethereum, giving users and institutional clients access through multiple blockchain networks and several Coinbase products.

Trading Infrastructure, Revenue Growth and Payments Expansion

Ripple Prime disclosed support for event contracts and real-world asset perpetual futures through financing, clearing and settlement services. The company named Jump Trading, Kalshi, Hyperliquid, Virtu and Rothera among its trading relationships. The announcement signals an effort to connect more types of financial products with Ripple Prime’s institutional infrastructure.

Ripple also introduced a global marketing campaign featuring actor Miles Teller. The campaign is designed to promote the practical utility of digital assets, positioning payments and financial applications as central themes rather than focusing exclusively on cryptocurrency prices.

Its partnership with Water.org is expanding across Ripple Payments, RLUSD and custody services. The announcement includes a $6 million commitment over three years, adding a philanthropic component to Ripple’s broader payments and financial infrastructure strategy.

Ripple provided a business update, reporting an annualized product-revenue run rate of $900 million, threefold customer growth and increased institutional adoption. The figures offer an indication of the company’s reported commercial momentum, although an annualized run rate is not the same as audited annual revenue.

The final development involved Dassie and Interledger. Former Ripple chief technology officer Stefan Thomas demonstrated a revived decentralized peer-to-peer payment network that uses XRPL settlement infrastructure. This was an executive presentation, not an announcement of a new Ripple product launch.

Taken together, the 13 developments show Ripple pursuing several connected markets at once. Banking approvals, stablecoin distribution, tokenized funds, custody, supplier payments and institutional trading all feature in the strategy. The announcements create additional potential use cases for XRP, RLUSD and XRPL, but their long-term impact will depend on implementation, customer adoption and the volume of financial activity that moves onto the infrastructure.
