**Kalshi Betting Market Tries to Gauge Bitcoin’s 2025 Low**
As we step into the new year, the crypto landscape has seen a dramatic shift in sentiment, moving from optimistic forecasts about Bitcoin’s potential heights in 2025 to increasing concerns about a bear market. This week’s market correction has seen Bitcoin tumble nearly 30% from its all-time high, leading many to wonder just how low it might go. According to a bet on the blockchain-based betting platform Kalshi, which has drawn nearly $300,000 in wagers, the market suggests a possible low of $60,000, with a 74% chance of Bitcoin dropping below $70,000.
These predictions have shifted significantly; just at the beginning of the week, the odds favored $80,000 as a potential support level for Bitcoin. The rapid decline in sentiment highlights the impact of the recent market correction. Prediction markets like Kalshi have gained traction over the past year, especially following the success of Polymarket during the 2024 U.S. elections, where their odds were closely monitored by mainstream media and ultimately proved accurate.
**What Experts Are Saying**
While Kalshi bettors are anticipating a dip to as low as $60,000 for Bitcoin in 2025, many market analysts are taking a more optimistic view, at least for the short term. In a post on X on February 28, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju suggested that Bitcoin might fall to around $75,000 and then stabilize between $75,000 and $100,000, citing a lack of immediate positive developments and fresh liquidity.
Conversely, Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, has indicated that a drop to the $69,000 to $76,500 range is plausible. He noted that Bitcoin may continue to show weakness over the weekend as markets brace for President Donald Trump’s upcoming tariffs on Canada, China, and Mexico, set to take effect on March 4.
In the meantime, Bitcoin has managed to recover some of its recent losses, trading at over $82,000 as of the latest updates.
