Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) foray into the fast-food world is taking another bite out of the international dining scene. Fresh off the heels of their first store in Naples, Welly’s, the SHIB Army’s official burger chain, has opened its doors in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
This expansion, announced last Sunday, marks a significant milestone for the SHIB community. It signifies the growing adoption and real-world utility of cryptocurrency. The new eatery boasts a sleek design by award-winning Spanish architect MASQUESPACIO, featuring over 40 seats and neon displays showcasing Welly’s unique non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
“Welly’s is an experience unlike any other,” enthused Gianmaria D’Aniello, a Welly Friends representative. He emphasized the brand’s focus on customer feedback and promised to bring this “one-of-a-kind experience” to new locations across Italy, the US, and beyond. This global ambition highlights the potential of Web3 ventures like Shiba Inu to fuel brand awareness and bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds.
The future looks bright for Welly’s, with plans to leverage blockchain technology. Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, is working alongside D’Aniello to implement a farm-to-table tracking system powered by blockchain. While details remain under wraps, this initiative suggests an emphasis on transparency and potentially, ethically sourced ingredients.
For now, burger aficionados can indulge in Welly’s menu, featuring juicy chicken burgers, sandwiches, wraps, fries, and even vegan and gluten-free options. The unique recipes, spearheaded by renowned chef Flynn McGarry, have already made the original Naples location a favorite amongst chicken lovers.
However, amidst the community’s excitement, there’s a slight cause for concern. The floor price for the Welly Friends digital collectible set, which launched alongside the brand, has dropped a significant 36.6% in the past two weeks. These 4,000 digital tokens, initially minted at 0.12 Ether (ETH) apiece, are now trading at a lower price of 0.038 ETH.
Despite this dip, the success of Welly’s Italian venture demonstrates the immense potential of merging Web3 projects with physical stores. This innovative approach could revolutionize the way we interact with brands and create a more immersive dining experience. As Welly’s sets its sights on the US market, one thing’s for sure: the future of fast food might just have a Shiba Inu mascot.
