Sony’s Soneium is collaborating with LINE to introduce blockchain mini-apps to 200 million users.

Soneium, supported by Sony Block Solutions Labs, is collaborating with LINE to incorporate four successful mini-apps into its blockchain framework in the near future. This partnership follows Soneium’s mainnet launch in January, which aligns with LINE’s introduction of its decentralized app portal. Soneium, a Layer-2 blockchain developed on the Ethereum network designed to improve digital fan interaction and cryptocurrency transactions, has teamed up with LINE, a leading messaging app in Japan and Thailand. In this collaboration, Soneuim will incorporate blockchain-driven applications into LINE’s platform, providing blockchain gaming experiences for its 200 million active users. Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating, “LINE has established a solid foothold, and the integration of successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a pivotal step in enhancing Soneium’s accessibility.” We are confident that this partnership will enhance interaction and increase acceptance in ways that were hard to attain before. Mini-Applications Powered by Blockchain Technology. According to the press release, the Soneium blockchain will showcase four gaming mini-apps. One of the games available is Sleepagotchi LITE, a more basic iteration of the forthcoming Sleepagotchi Sleep Rewards app designed for iOS and Android, which will be connected to the network. The initial version of the app reached 1 million users on Telegram within a month, showcasing its capability for rapid viral growth. Farm Frens is a farming simulation game that launched in 2024 as a highly ranked mini-game on Telegram and has attracted over $10 million in funding so far. Integrating with LINE’s platform will enable Moonveil’s Puffy Match to access a much broader audience. Its aim is to boost the prominence of zk-L2 and AI-driven gaming ecosystems by enhancing the accessibility and appeal of blockchain gaming for LINE users.
