The Open Network community is moving into a new chapter as its native token transitions from TON to GRAM, but the project is emphasizing that holders do not need to take any action during the process.

In a recent message shared on X, the TON team reminded users that there is no token swap, migration, claim process, or manual conversion required. According to the announcement, balances will automatically update from TON to GRAM wherever the assets are currently held, while the underlying blockchain and ecosystem remain unchanged.

The reminder comes as exchanges, wallets, and other ecosystem participants continue implementing support for the token’s rebranding. The transition follows a community governance vote that approved the return to the Gram name with more than 81% support from participating voters. The change affects only the token’s branding, ticker, and identity, while The Open Network itself continues operating under the TON name.

A Rebrand, Not a New Token

The transition from TON to GRAM has created some confusion among users, prompting the network to repeatedly clarify that the process is purely a rebranding exercise rather than the launch of a new asset.

Under the approved proposal, existing TON balances automatically become GRAM on a one-to-one basis. Wallet addresses, staking positions, smart contracts, NFTs, Jettons, decentralized finance applications, and other on-chain assets remain unchanged throughout the transition. No new blockchain is being launched, and no token contract replacement is taking place.

Several major cryptocurrency exchanges have also announced support for the rebrand, confirming that customer balances will be automatically updated from TON to GRAM without requiring users to manually exchange their holdings. Exchanges including KuCoin, Bitrue, and Flipster have stated that the conversion will occur automatically at a 1:1 ratio as they update trading pairs and platform interfaces.

TON Warns Users About Potential Scams

One of the main reasons for the network’s reminder is the increased risk of scams that often accompany major token rebrands. Because users are accustomed to seeing migrations and token swaps in the cryptocurrency industry, bad actors may attempt to exploit the situation by promoting fake claim pages or fraudulent migration services.

The TON team has consistently stated that there is no legitimate claim process, bridge transfer, or wallet connection required to receive GRAM. Any website, message, or application requesting users to migrate TON tokens or claim new GRAM tokens should be treated with caution.

The rebranding revives the original “Gram” name associated with Telegram’s early blockchain ambitions and marks another step in the ecosystem’s broader development strategy. While the token’s name is changing, the network itself remains The Open Network, ensuring continuity for users, developers, and businesses building within the ecosystem.

For holders, the message from the project remains straightforward: keep assets where they are, avoid unofficial migration offers, and allow the automatic transition from TON to GRAM to take place without intervention.
