Avalanche Enters UAE Digital Identity Infrastructure
Avalanche is moving deeper into the UAE’s digital government ecosystem through an integration involving the UAE PASS Digital Vault, according to an announcement from the Avalanche network. The project involves the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, or TDRA, and Deca4.
UAE PASS is the UAE’s national digital identity platform for citizens, residents and visitors. It provides a single account for accessing government and private-sector services, signing documents and managing verified credentials. TDRA describes the platform as a core part of the country’s digital government infrastructure.
The Digital Vault adds another layer to the system. Users can store official documents and share them digitally, while blockchain technology is used to help verify their authenticity and integrity. TDRA says documents added through UAE PASS can be verified after being issued by the relevant government authority.
Avalanche says its technology will serve as infrastructure for the UAE PASS Digital Vault. If implemented at the stated scale, the use case would put Avalanche technology closer to a national digital service rather than a conventional crypto application.
The potential reach is substantial. UAE PASS had more than 11 million users according to UAE government figures released in 2025, showing that the platform already operates at national scale. The government has continued expanding the system across sectors and services.
The UAE is also expanding the number of official documents available through its digital wallet. In December 2025, TDRA announced five additional digital trade-license documents through UAE PASS, allowing businesses to store and share official records digitally.
Blockchain Moves Beyond Crypto Trading
The importance for Avalanche is the type of application involved. Digital identity requires infrastructure capable of handling verification, security and data integrity without exposing sensitive personal information unnecessarily.
That is already reflected in the UAE’s blockchain document architecture. TDRA’s UAE Verify service records a hash of a digital document on blockchain, allowing the system to check whether the document is authentic and whether its contents have been altered. Personal information and the actual document contents are not stored on the blockchain.
This distinction is important because national identity systems cannot simply place citizens’ personal information on a public ledger. Instead, blockchain can provide a verifiable record that helps institutions confirm the authenticity and integrity of a document without exposing its underlying private information.
For Avalanche, the UAE PASS development therefore represents a potential enterprise infrastructure use case rather than another token trading integration. It also fits the network’s broader effort to position blockchain technology for government, financial and institutional applications.

The UAE has been building its digital-government infrastructure for years, with UAE PASS already supporting digital signatures, authentication and access to thousands of services. TDRA is now also training government and private-sector teams to integrate UAE PASS more efficiently into their systems.
The next question is whether the Avalanche integration becomes a broader foundation for additional government applications. A successful deployment could give the network a reference case for blockchain-based document verification and digital identity infrastructure in other jurisdictions.
For AVAX holders, the development is relevant because it highlights a different source of potential network demand. Instead of relying only on decentralized finance or consumer applications, Avalanche is seeking roles in infrastructure where governments and institutions need secure systems capable of supporting large numbers of users.
The UAE PASS development should still be viewed as an infrastructure milestone rather than an immediate catalyst for AVAX’s price. Its longer-term importance will depend on the scale of the integration, actual network usage and whether similar government deployments follow. If those pieces materialize, the UAE could become one of Avalanche’s most visible real-world blockchain infrastructure use cases.
