Services on NEAR Intents were temporarily halted following a security breach stemming from a vulnerability in the interaction between its smart contract and the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure.
Preliminary assessments confirm a total loss of approximately $3.8 million. NEAR Intents announced that all impacted user funds will be fully compensated.
Patch Status and Operations Timeline
The contract-side vulnerability has been patched, with core NEAR Intents and near.com web operations expected to resume within an hour of the announcement.
However, cross-chain deposit and withdrawal bridges across several networks remain temporarily offline while underlying fixes to the Omni infrastructure are finalized:
- Temporarily Suspended Networks (~12-Hour Maintenance): Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll, and Plasma.
- In-App Asset Swaps: Users holding assets from affected chains within NEAR Intents (including HOT wallet balances) can swap them into alternative tokens once core services come back online.
Fund Recovery and Legal Action
The NEAR Intents team confirmed that the incident has been formally escalated to law enforcement agencies.
