Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) reaching $0.01 would require a price increase of roughly 200 times from a reference price of $0.00004977. But the bigger obstacle is its supply: approximately 5.53 trillion LUNC are circulating. At $0.01, that translates into a market capitalization of about $55.3 billion. 1
That is the central problem with the popular one-cent target. LUNC does not simply need a higher price. It needs a valuation supported by sufficient demand, liquidity and credible economic activity.
What $0.01 Would Mean for LUNC
The calculation is straightforward:
Market capitalization = price × circulating supply
Using 5.53 trillion LUNC as the reference supply:
| LUNC price | Implied market capitalization |
|---|---|
| $0.00005 | $276.5 million |
| $0.0001 | $553 million |
| $0.001 | $5.53 billion |
| $0.005 | $27.65 billion |
| $0.01 | $55.3 billion |
| $0.10 | $553 billion |
These figures assume circulating supply remains unchanged. The actual valuation would differ as supply changes.
At one cent, LUNC would need a market capitalization exceeding $55 billion under this assumption. That is a radically different valuation from its current market capitalization of roughly $275 million at the reference price.
The required price increase is approximately 201 times. This does not mean $55 billion in fresh cash must enter the market: market capitalization is calculated using the marginal token price, not cumulative investment. Nevertheless, sustaining that valuation would require substantial buying demand and sufficient liquidity to absorb selling pressure.
Can Token Burns Solve the Problem?
The LUNC community has spent years pursuing supply reduction through token burns. Binance has contributed through its trading-fee burn program, while on-chain transaction taxes and other burns have removed additional tokens.
Recent burn tracking puts cumulative burns since May 2022 at approximately 459 billion LUNC, against a circulating supply of roughly 5.53 trillion. 2
That is meaningful progress, but it has not eliminated the supply overhang.
Consider a different way to approach the one-cent target. If LUNC could support a $10 billion market capitalization, the supply consistent with a $0.01 price would be:
$10 billion ÷ $0.01 = 1 trillion LUNC
Reducing circulating supply from 5.53 trillion to 1 trillion would require removing approximately 4.53 trillion tokens, or 81.9% of the current circulating supply, assuming no offsetting issuance or other supply changes.
Even a $5 billion market capitalization at one cent would require a circulating supply of 500 billion LUNC. That would mean an approximately 91% reduction from the current supply.
These are mathematical scenarios, not predictions of what LUNC’s market capitalization should be. They show why modest burns alone cannot quickly transform the economics of the token.
How Long Would It Take to Burn Trillions?
The answer depends on the net rate of supply reduction, not simply the number of tokens sent to burn addresses.
LUNC Metrics reported approximately 3.27 billion LUNC burned over a recent 30-day period in its burn tracker. 2 If that pace continued unchanged, it would amount to roughly 39.2 billion tokens annually.
At that hypothetical rate, removing 4.53 trillion tokens would take approximately 116 years.
This is an illustration, not a forecast. Burn activity fluctuates, transaction volume can change, and gross burns are not necessarily equivalent to net supply reduction. Staking, community-pool movements and other changes must also be accounted for when measuring the effective circulating supply.
The calculation nevertheless demonstrates the scale of the challenge: a burn campaign removing billions of tokens can still have a limited impact when trillions remain.
What Could Make $0.01 More Realistic?
LUNC needs more than a shrinking supply. Three developments would materially strengthen the case.
1. Sustained net supply reduction. Burns must consistently exceed any offsetting increases in circulating supply. Investors should monitor verified supply data rather than celebrating individual large burn transactions in isolation.
2. Genuine demand for LUNC. Network usage, applications, transaction activity and economic incentives need to give people reasons to acquire and use the token. Speculation can move prices temporarily, but sustained demand is more important for maintaining a higher valuation.
3. Deeper liquidity and investor confidence. A rapid rally is not proof that a price is sustainable. LUNC needs enough market depth to accommodate buyers and sellers without extreme price swings, alongside credible development and governance.
Binance’s continued burns can contribute to supply reduction, but no single exchange can guarantee LUNC’s recovery. The market must ultimately determine whether the token deserves a substantially higher valuation.
The Verdict: Is $0.01 Possible?
Mathematically, yes. But mathematical possibility is not the same as economic probability.
At approximately 5.53 trillion circulating tokens, LUNC reaching $0.01 implies a market capitalization of around $55.3 billion. Alternatively, if its valuation remained at $10 billion, circulating supply would need to fall to 1 trillion tokens for the price to equal one cent.
Both routes face significant challenges. The first requires extraordinary growth in valuation; the second requires an enormous reduction in supply. A combination of stronger demand and sustained net burns could improve the outlook, but neither outcome should be assumed.
For LUNC holders, the more useful question is not whether the token can briefly touch one cent during a speculative rally. It is whether Terra Classic can build the demand, liquidity and economic fundamentals required to sustain that price.
Until those conditions improve, $0.01 remains a high-risk scenario—not a price target that burn statistics alone can justify.
