Pi Network has announced a strategic partnership with Open Standard, the organization behind Open USD (OUSD)—a partner-governed stablecoin built as open infrastructure for the digital economy.
The collaboration links Pi Network to a broader network of global giants in finance, payments, and technology. Open Standard’s consortium spans over 200 partners, including prominent industry leaders such as Visa, Google, and Stripe.
Expanding Utility and Pioneer Rewards
A core focus of the partnership is leveraging OUSD’s unique incentive structure to drive ecosystem expansion. OUSD is designed to reward participation and development across its network rather than concentrating value solely at the issuer level.
Through this integration, Pi Network plans to explore:
- Rewards Programs for Pioneers: New mechanisms to incentivize active community members and app users.
- Broader Ecosystem Utility: Integrating a stable, partner-governed digital asset into Pi’s decentralized application (dApp) marketplace and commerce initiatives.
- Cross-Chain & Payment Connectivity: Connecting Pi’s user base to institutional-grade payment infrastructure and mainstream fintech platforms.
Strengthening Decentralized Infrastructure
As Pi Network continues its transition toward full mainnet maturity, incorporating established stablecoin infrastructure addresses the key requirement of price stability for micro-transactions, commerce, and peer-to-peer trade within the network.
