Pi Network has announced the rollout of Protocol 26, requiring all Mainnet node operators to upgrade before August 11 to remain connected to the blockchain. The update represents another milestone in Pi’s ongoing Mainnet development and comes ahead of the network’s planned Protocol 27, which the Core Team describes as the final major protocol upgrade in the current modernization roadmap.
According to the Pi Core Team, the network has already completed eight successful protocol upgrades over recent months. Protocols 26 and 27 are intended to bring the blockchain fully up to date with the latest protocol improvements, functionality, and performance enhancements as Pi continues preparing its infrastructure for future growth.
Protocol 26 Continues Pi Network’s Mainnet Evolution
The latest announcement primarily targets Mainnet node operators, who are responsible for validating transactions and helping secure the blockchain. Any operator that fails to install Protocol 26 before the August 11 deadline risks losing connectivity with the network until the required upgrade is completed.
