Ethereum (ETH)

Trueo is preparing to deploy its prediction market protocol on Ethereum mainnet after operating on Base since March 2025. The project says Ethereum’s liquidity, network effects, integration potential and long-term positioning make it the better foundation for its next stage of development.

The move is centered on four priorities: increasing liquidity, reducing trust assumptions, expanding adoption of the application and building infrastructure designed for the long term. Trueo said Ethereum’s neutral and predictable roadmap also reduces external execution risks for the protocol.

Trueo originally selected Base because Ethereum mainnet execution costs were higher when the application was launched and parts of the product were still experimental. The project described Base as an appropriate environment for that earlier phase, but now says Ethereum better matches its intended final architecture.

The team also sees an opportunity in Ethereum’s prediction-market sector. Despite Ethereum’s large decentralized finance ecosystem, Trueo argues that prediction markets remain less crowded on the network than on some competing chains, potentially giving the protocol room to establish a dedicated presence.

TRUE Token Migration Will Remain Open

The transition is not intended to abruptly shut down Trueo’s Base deployment. Existing markets will continue to operate and remain supported until their respective expiration dates, while users will still be able to create markets that expire during 2026.

Trueo is asking users to avoid creating new Base markets with expiration dates after January 31, 2027. Those longer-duration markets should instead be created after the Ethereum instance becomes available, according to the project’s migration guidance.

The TRUE token will also migrate to Ethereum, but holders will not face a fixed migration deadline. Trueo says users can move their tokens at their own pace, while future staking and liquidity incentives are expected to operate on Ethereum.

The project says the migration will not disrupt the existing application for Base users. Trading, settlement and redemption for existing markets are expected to continue during the transition, allowing markets already in progress to reach their scheduled outcomes.

Trueo’s next phase will also include work on a new generation of its oracle infrastructure. Oracles are particularly important for prediction markets because they determine how real-world events are translated into outcomes that smart contracts can use for settlement.

Vitalik Buterin Welcomes Trueo to Ethereum

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin publicly welcomed Trueo’s move, describing it as a new prediction-market contender focused on decentralization and ethical design. He also said the project is attempting to explore meaningful applications for prediction markets as an economic primitive.

The endorsement gives Trueo additional visibility as it enters Ethereum’s mainnet ecosystem, but it does not represent an investment, partnership or guarantee of adoption by Ethereum. The project will still need to attract liquidity and users once its Ethereum deployment is operational.

Trueo’s own strategy places particular emphasis on reducing trust requirements within its prediction-market infrastructure. That includes its planned oracle development and a broader goal of building a platform that is permissionless, broadly integrated and increasingly resistant to external control.

The decision also highlights a different approach to the current trend of applications building primarily on Layer 2 networks. Trueo is choosing direct Ethereum mainnet deployment despite the availability of lower-cost execution environments, arguing that access to Ethereum’s liquidity and broader network effects outweighs those trade-offs for its long-term strategy.

For Base users and TRUE holders, the immediate focus is therefore the migration process rather than a sudden change in the existing platform. Existing markets remain active, the token migration is open-ended and longer-dated new markets are being directed toward the upcoming Ethereum deployment.
