Avalanche Brings $1.3T Wellington and $6B Fasanara Strategies Onchain

Avalanche has added two institutional investment strategies from Midas, bringing tokenized exposure linked to Wellington Management and Fasanara Capital onto the blockchain. The deployment puts mWIN and mGLOBAL on Avalanche, extending the network’s growing real-world asset ecosystem into fixed income and alternative credit.

Midas describes the move as a way to make institutional strategies programmable and transferable through blockchain infrastructure. The underlying products are managed by established investment firms, while their tokenized representations can interact with onchain financial applications.

Wellington’s Fixed-Income Strategy Arrives on Avalanche

mWIN is linked to an actively managed, multi-sector fixed-income portfolio managed by Wellington Management. Wellington manages more than $1.3 trillion in assets, according to Midas’ product materials, and oversees the investment strategy behind mWIN.

The portfolio can include collateralized loan obligations, commercial mortgage-backed securities, residential mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities and investment-grade corporate bonds. Rather than representing a single security, mWIN is designed to provide exposure to a professionally managed portfolio that can change as market conditions evolve.

mWIN is issued through a Luxembourg securitization structure, with Northern Trust serving as institutional custodian and providing valuation services for the underlying assets. The structure is designed to separate the assets and liabilities associated with the strategy from other Midas operations.

The tokenized structure also allows mWIN to be used within decentralized finance applications. Midas previously introduced the product to Ethereum-based DeFi markets, including use as collateral in lending infrastructure, showing how the strategy can move beyond simply representing an offchain portfolio.

Bringing mWIN to Avalanche expands the blockchain environments through which the strategy can be accessed. For developers, the significance is the ability to incorporate tokenized institutional credit into applications that can interact with Avalanche’s smart-contract infrastructure.

mGLOBAL provides a different type of exposure. The tokenized investment product is linked to Fasanara Capital’s alternative-credit strategy, which focuses primarily on short-duration trade receivables, digital invoices and asset-based finance. Fasanara manages approximately $6 billion in fintech-focused strategies for institutional investors.

Avalanche Expands Its Institutional RWA Footprint

The underlying mGLOBAL strategy has a broad geographic and credit-origination footprint. Midas says the portfolio covers more than 60 countries and more than 140 originators, with exposure to short-duration real-economy credit rather than conventional public-market bonds.

mGLOBAL has already been integrated into Aave’s Horizon RWA market, where qualified holders can use the tokenized strategy as collateral for supported stablecoin borrowing. That integration illustrates the type of onchain utility Midas is seeking for institutional investment products.

The Avalanche deployment does not mean the full $1.3 trillion managed by Wellington or the roughly $6 billion managed by Fasanara has moved onto the blockchain. Those figures describe the asset managers’ broader businesses, while mWIN and mGLOBAL represent specific investment strategies.

The distinction is important because tokenization does not eliminate the traditional infrastructure surrounding regulated investment products. Custody, valuation, legal structures, investor eligibility and the management of the underlying portfolios remain part of the system.

For Avalanche, however, the arrival of both products adds another example of traditional financial strategies being connected to programmable blockchain infrastructure. The network has increasingly positioned itself as a venue for tokenized securities, funds and other real-world assets.

For Midas, deploying both strategies on Avalanche broadens the distribution and potential composability of its product range. The company’s model is focused on turning professionally managed investment strategies into onchain instruments that can potentially interact with lending, liquidity and other financial applications.

The next measure of the rollout will be actual adoption, including assets issued, investor participation and integration with Avalanche-based applications. The launch establishes the infrastructure, but those metrics will determine how much activity the two products ultimately generate on the network.

The arrival of mWIN and mGLOBAL therefore represents another step in the development of Avalanche’s institutional RWA market. Wellington’s fixed-income strategy and Fasanara’s alternative-credit strategy bring two distinct forms of traditional investment exposure into an environment where tokenized assets can be transferred and integrated with blockchain applications, subject to the applicable product and investor restrictions.
