Moscow Exchange is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives offering with a new perpetual futures contract linked to XRP. Trading is scheduled to begin on September 22, 2026, giving qualified investors a regulated exchange-listed instrument for gaining exposure to XRP price movements without directly holding the token.
XRP Joins Five-Asset Crypto Futures Lineup
XRP will be one of five digital assets represented in the new group of perpetual futures. Moscow Exchange is also introducing contracts linked to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and TRON, broadening the range of crypto markets available through its derivatives infrastructure.
The XRP contract will trade under the code XRPUSDF and reference the Moscow Exchange XRP Index, identified by the exchange as the MOEX XRP Index. MOEX’s contract specifications confirm XRPUSDF as a perpetual futures instrument tied to that index.
Unlike conventional futures with a fixed expiration date, the new products are structured as one-day settlement contracts with automatic rollover. This allows positions to continue from one trading day into the next rather than requiring investors to manually replace an expiring long-dated contract.

The contracts are also cash-settled. Investors will not receive XRP when trading the XRPUSDF contract. Instead, the financial result of the position is settled through the exchange’s market infrastructure, separating derivatives exposure from ownership of the underlying cryptocurrency.
The quotation structure is another important detail. Although the XRP futures are quoted in U.S. dollars, settlement takes place in Russian rubles. This means the contract combines a dollar-denominated reference price with ruble-based financial settlement.
Access will also be restricted. Moscow Exchange says the new perpetual futures are available only to qualified investors, meaning the launch does not represent unrestricted access to XRP derivatives for every participant in the Russian market.
The new contracts build on an existing market for crypto-linked derivatives at MOEX. The exchange has already offered futures connected to cryptocurrency prices, giving professional market participants a way to trade digital-asset exposure through established exchange and clearing infrastructure.
MOEX Expands Its Crypto Derivatives Market
Moscow Exchange’s latest move also places XRP alongside several of the industry’s largest digital assets within the same derivatives framework. The five new instruments are linked to MOEX indices for Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP and TRON.
For XRP traders, the significance is therefore centered on market access rather than direct token distribution. A participant can take a position on XRP’s price without arranging custody, transferring XRP to a wallet or receiving the underlying asset through the futures contract.
The structure could also give professional investors another venue for managing exposure to XRP price movements. Futures can be used for both directional positions and risk-management strategies, although the specific use depends on the investor’s objectives and the risks associated with leveraged derivatives.
MOEX’s existing crypto derivatives activity provides some indication of the market infrastructure behind the expansion. The exchange has reported more than 72,000 qualified investors trading its crypto-linked futures, with cumulative trading volume exceeding 600 billion rubles. Those figures relate to existing products and should not be interpreted as projected volume for XRPUSDF.
The September 22 launch will therefore be an important milestone for XRP’s presence in Russia’s regulated derivatives market. It does not mean XRP itself will become available for unrestricted spot trading on Moscow Exchange, nor does it mean investors will receive XRP through the new contract.
For the XRP community, the key development is that the asset is being incorporated into another institutional derivatives framework. The first real measure of the new contract will come after trading begins, when liquidity, participation, spreads and trading activity can be observed rather than inferred from the announcement.
Moscow Exchange’s expansion also shows how crypto exposure can increasingly be packaged through traditional financial-market infrastructure. With XRPUSDF scheduled for September 22, investors will be watching whether the new cash-settled contract develops meaningful activity alongside the exchange’s existing crypto derivatives markets.
