Solana Gets First USDGO Market-Neutral Fund as OSL Tokenizes Stablecoin Strategy
Solana’s institutional finance ecosystem has gained a new investment product after 2WA and OSL Group brought USDGO Plus SP onchain. The fund is built around USDGO, a US dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Anchorage Digital Bank, and is designed to generate returns from cryptocurrency derivatives markets rather than relying on rising token prices.
Announced by Solana on October 12, 2026, the initiative brings together blockchain infrastructure, regulated custody services and a market-neutral investment strategy. OSL is responsible for tokenization, custody and distribution, while 2WA developed the fund. Access is restricted to eligible professional investors in Hong Kong.
The launch adds another example of how stablecoins are being used beyond payments and trading. Instead of simply holding a dollar-pegged token, investors in USDGO Plus SP gain exposure to a strategy that seeks to capture funding-rate differences in crypto derivatives markets. The product does not eliminate investment risk, and its reported performance is not a guarantee of future returns.
How USDGO Plus SP Works on Solana
USDGO Plus SP is part of PrimePlus SPC, a Cayman Islands segregated portfolio company, and was launched within the 2WA ecosystem in August 2026. OSL has tokenized the fund’s units and provides custody and distribution through its licensed Hong Kong digital asset trading platform. Eligible investors can subscribe to and redeem their positions through the OSL HK app.
The fund follows a market-neutral strategy focused on capturing funding-rate spreads in cryptocurrency derivatives. Funding payments help balance perpetual futures markets, and differences in funding rates can create opportunities for strategies that seek to limit directional exposure. However, market-neutral positioning does not mean risk-free investing, as funding rates can change or turn negative.
According to the announcement, USDGO Plus SP had generated a 16.67% return since inception as of October 7, 2026. Its annualized return over the preceding 30 days stood at 17.05%, before relevant fees. These figures cover different measurement periods and should not be treated as a guaranteed annual return or a forecast of future performance.
The fund offers daily subscriptions, redemptions and net asset value updates. An optional same-day, or T+0, express redemption feature was scheduled for introduction later in October. These arrangements could provide eligible investors with more frequent access to fund information and redemption options, although actual liquidity remains subject to the product’s terms and conditions.
USDGO, the fund’s underlying stablecoin, is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar and backed by liquid reserves that include cash and short-term US Treasury securities. Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. issues the stablecoin, while OSL Group acts as its brand operator and distributor. OSL says it maintains digital asset insurance coverage exceeding $1 billion in Hong Kong, alongside multiple security certifications.
Solana’s Institutional RWA Expansion Faces a Regulatory Test
The collaboration also highlights the different roles played by companies building tokenized financial products. 2WA provides the structuring and technology connecting regulated assets to onchain markets, while OSL supplies custody and distribution infrastructure. Tokenization puts fund units on a blockchain, but it does not remove the legal rights, eligibility rules or obligations attached to the underlying investment.
For Solana, the product represents another attempt to attract financial activity beyond conventional cryptocurrency trading. Tokenized funds can potentially benefit from blockchain-based recordkeeping and more programmable settlement, while stablecoins provide a familiar dollar-denominated asset for transactions. The practical benefits depend on how the fund integrates with existing financial systems and what services investors can actually access.
Regulatory eligibility is a central limitation. USDGO Plus SP has not been authorized by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission under Section 104 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, and its offering documents have not been reviewed by a Hong Kong regulatory authority. The fund is intended only for eligible professional investors, not the general retail market.
Investors must also account for the risks of derivatives strategies, custody arrangements, stablecoin reserves and potential liquidity constraints. Even a strategy designed to reduce exposure to broad market direction can lose money, and a dollar peg does not guarantee that every redemption will be immediate or free from disruption. Past performance offers no assurance of future results.
The launch nevertheless illustrates a developing direction for real-world asset tokenization: combining stablecoins, professionally managed investment strategies and blockchain-based fund units within a regulated distribution framework. Whether USDGO Plus SP attracts sustained demand will depend on performance after fees, investor confidence, liquidity and compliance. Its arrival expands Solana’s institutional use cases, but adoption and investment success remain to be demonstrated.
