VeChain is preparing for one of the most significant technical upgrades in the history of the VeChainThor blockchain after confirming that its Interstellar network upgrade is expected to take place on September 16, 2026.

The upgrade, implemented through VIP-255, packages 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals into a single protocol update. According to VeChain, Interstellar is expected to activate at block height 25,902,540, with the projected activation time set for 11:15:10 UTC on September 16, although the exact timing may vary depending on block production.

The development follows the successful stakeholder vote on the proposal and marks the third major stage of VeChain’s broader Renaissance roadmap. While the upgrade contains several deeply technical changes, its broader objective is straightforward: bring VeChainThor closer to Ethereum’s EVM standards, improve interoperability, and make the network easier for developers, enterprises, and applications to use.
